Economic Contribution: The estimated Gross Value Added (GVA) of the IT, software and computer services sector rose from £30.5bn in 2012 to £35.1bn in 2013, a figure that is three times bigger than the GVA of UK advertising and marketing. The GVA of the sector rose by 14.8% year on year in 2013, to reach an average growth rate of 6.2% for the total 2008-2013 period. The sector is a successful exporter, accounting for 46% of all exports from the UK creative industries in 2012. Exports from IT, software and computer services rose from £7.21bn in 2011 to £8.01bn in 2012. This represents an increase of 11% year on year..
