- FlairBox is the World's Digital Stage. We've built the first end-to-end hiring solution for entertainment industry professionals and a digital stage that uses video to allow performers to be discovered for their work. Through our 'Intelligent Casting' AI, we're going to use industry professional interaction in order to power machine learning AI that will rank performers based on suitability for a role - a major technical advance which will save 60+ hours per talent search. Our technology will also level the playing field in terms of opportunity, making it about your talent, not your connections.
- Starting with the casting of actors in TV, Film & Theatre, we are the first platform to embrace the potential of machine learning AI in order to resolve huge inefficiencies and inequalities that currently exist in the hiring process for performers. Currently, casting professionals and producers rely on time consuming, manual filtering of performers, based largely on their headshot and CV, rather than clips of their work. They also need to use several different platforms in order to find, audition and hire a performer. FlairBox allows them to find, audition and hire in one place and uses machine learning AI technology in order to rank performers based on their suitability for a role. This ranking is powered by industry professional interaction with a performer's videos - this includes views, length of views, favouriting, clapping (liking), shortlisting, and finally casting. So rather than making an industry professional manually skim through potentially thousands of applications for a job, we use interaction from other industry professionals in order to rank performers for them. Our technology is a world first, so the application of FlairBox has truly global potential. We are already working with world-leading casting directors like Nancy Bishop ( credits include Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol & Borat Subsequent Movie Film) who are casting performers from across Europe rather than just the UK.
- We launched in October 2020, we’ve already got 2,700 performers with profiles created, 86 industry professionals and over 1000 audition requests have gone out this year alone - that's all with next to zero marketing spend. Those industry professionals include Nancy Bishop, Fiona Weir's office (credits include Harry Potter & Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them), Des Hamilton's office (Jojo Rabbit & Top Boy) and Jane Anderson (ITV & BBC, various). Once we have commercially proven the model in the UK, we want to do the same worldwide. We then want to apply the model across the entertainment industry, so as to include: Music, Dance, Comedy and Voiceover work.
- We've just been awarded a £277,000 innovate UK Smart grant and we've nearly closed a seed round of £300k-£350k from private investors, with £245k already invested.
- Being a CIC CreaTech one to watch 2021 will keep us in the company of some of the most exciting, technologically advanced and commercially revolutionary creative tech companies in the UK. This will give additional credibility to FlairBox, so as to keep pressing forward with our technology in order to make a dramatic commercial impact on the entertainment industry in the UK and worldwide.
