Forest Tribe is providing an immersive location and mobile- based experience that has an inclusive design. The focus is to reach new audiences with complex learning needs, this includes children and young people with autism, PMLD (profound multiple learning disabilities), Deaf/blind and global developmental delay.
The experience deploys 5G bandwidth, haptics, Artificial Intelligent immersive storytelling, Augmented Reality actors and spatial sound to create a highly-sensory experience carefully crafted for the demographic.
Forest Tribe is creating and delivering a novel approach of implementing technology which fully provides an inclusive offer for a new audience that have rarely had the option to experience immersive theatre. The format of the work is creative and utilises the expertise of the team within the immersive theatre and arts sector.
We have found a solution to an ongoing issue over the pandemic, which was to reach to children and young people with severe complex needs. The successful delivery during pandemic in October 2020 at special schools also revealed the creative approach and the need for more immersive experiences for this demographic beyond the pandemic phase.
Forest Tribe has a clear roadmap to deliver and build a format that is disruptive and will transform the approach in making immersive theatre and experiences for audiences. We intend to develop new opportunities to make inclusive and diverse experiences. Forest Tribe is also a carbon-neutral company and we will maintain our focus to create a more sustainable design and creative approach for our company.
Forest Tribe have partners with educational organisations in the U.S, Sweden and Malaysia. All see the potential of reaching to their demographic group in their own country and understand the importance of making a fully sensory immersive experience which can also be exploited into the mainstream market.
We are currently nurturing partnerships and collaborations across several sectors, including Theatre, Film, Engineering, Gaming, Arts, Telecoms and Education. All are integral into the success of the immersive work created at Forest Tribe. As a recipient from Digital Catapult, we have created a prototype to demonstrate the potential of reaching new audiences. This has formed a clear case study for 5G bandwidth, and A.I immersive storytelling for audiences with PMLD (profound multiple learning disabilities).
The innovation has delivered a clear prototype that will lead to commercial viability. With a succinct business plan and proven track of success. We are looking into commercial subscriptions within the Edtech, Health and Wellbeing and Creative Industries sectors. Since 2020 we have grown steadily through the pandemic and developing a clear research and development process with key milestones in place. The opportunity to be part of CIC “CreaTech One to Watch 2021” will play a pivotal role in the development of our service and for Forest Tribe as a SME. As, it will position us in strategic place where the combination of our creativity and technology will be offered to new audiences. We envisage working with commercial partners, telecoms, artists and fashion designers, all playing an influential part in the creation of highly crafted immersive work for everyone.
Forest Tribe has been supported by the Art Council since 2017 and has steadily built its portfolio into making work that is immersive and accessible. The recent pandemic has highlighted the opportunities as a small start-up company to pivot our work using innovating technology. We are very keen to explore technology that complements and responds to the needs of our audiences. The CEO’s background in Artificial Intelligence also has enabled to deploy technology that can harness the narratives and bring it to life. She is also acutely aware of the audiences and how to interact with them to meet their needs. It is clear we are working in uncharted waters and offering a novel approach to make immersive experiences from a theatrical perspective that is truly sustainable, diverse and inclusive.
