A total of 103 companies have been awarded the IPA People First Promise for demonstrating their commitment to the positive mental health and wellbeing of their people.

The People First Promise initiative was launched by IPA President Josh Krichefski to encourage those active in this space to use this recognition to continue their duty of care to employees, future talent and to clients.

The list of successful companies comprises brands, media owners, industry bodies and agencies, all of whom have successfully provided evidence of their various activity that supports their people’s mental health and wellbeing, under the three interconnected and interdependent categories of Empower, Support and Prevent.

Examples of provisions given to employees cited by companies include: having a GP who comes into the office weekly; hosting financial clinics offering bespoke advice: running reverse mentoring to enable junior members of the team to receive guidance, from someone more senior in the company; organising a visit from a sleep posture expert to help employees optimise sleep quality; and many more.

To find out more, visit the IPA Adland Wellbeing Lab, which accompanies the People First Promise, contains information for companies and individuals, including video testimonials and blogs.

Josh Krichefski, outgoing President of the IPA, said: "I am delighted to see that in less than a year, over 100 companies have become proud badge holders of the IPA People First Promise. Crucially, what these badges represent is the fact that thousands of industry people are being rightfully supported and empowered by their employers to prioritise their mental health and wellbeing. As I’ve said from the start of my Presidency, looking after our people isn’t just the right, moral thing to do. When people feel valued and supported, they're more motivated, productive, and loyal. Plus, it creates a more positive and fulfilling environment for everyone."
