advertising could drive UK's industrial future

The Advertising Association has submitted a paper to the Government’s Industrial Strategy Green Paper consultation, arguing that advertising is "economic infrastructure" and should be seen as a valuable UK asset which supports £120bn of economic activity.

The submission highlights future potential to:

  • Use advertising as a lever for regional growth and further promote the UK as a global centre for advertising
  • Bring benefits such as increased growth, productivity, jobs, and exports to the UK

In particular, the document highlights the opportunity to increase the number of small and medium-sized enterprises that use advertising.
