A report from Enders Analysis argues that the UK's creative industries engage more enterprises and employees than any part of the UK economy, except financial services.

However, the pandemic threatens the progress made by the creative industries, particularly in fostering business development outside London and in the nations and regions. This growth has been led by the audio visual disciplines which also contribute to the growth of music, advertising and digital businesses.

The report argues that the UK's public service broadcasters (the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5) have a key role to play in contributing to commission content from businesses outside London to support the future economic growth and culturally diverse output of the UK.
